What We Do
Fieldwork
FOSA volunteers assist with all stages of archaeological fieldwork, including excavation, under the guidance of the state archaeologist.
Outreach
Enhancing awareness of the importance of archaeology by exchanging ideas and experiences at public events.
Continuing Education
Occasional classes to enhance understanding of contemporary archaeological techniques, methods, and theory.
Annual Meetings
Annual gatherings of the FOSA community with a lecture by invited speakers and a business meeting.
ASC and FOSA
Since 2009, FOSA and the Archaeological Society of Connecticut (ASC) have collaborated to increase awareness of Connecticut’s archaeological past.
