2021 Annual Meeting Info
As with our 2020 Annual Meeting, due to concern surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, it was decided
that a formal meeting such as we normally have could not be done. As a result, the meeting was held "virtually",
on March 10 using the ZOOM Video Conferencing tool. This meeting actually consisted of 2 portions, with the
"Guest Speaker" portion being recorded first and the "Business" portion being recorded immediately following.
The first recording has been posted on the ASC website, with the Guest Speaker Dr. Zachary Singer speaking on
his work on the Templeton site. Our intent was to select a number of images from Zachary's talk to give an idea
of its content; should a viewer wish to see the hour-long talk, s/he could access it from the ASC website once
it was uploaded there.
This also resulted in 2 sets of images, one for each section. For the full half-hour Business portion we did
do our own audio recording. Separate image sections for segments of the meeting are available in the "Meeting's
Images" pages, since there is the one audio recording for the Business portion but not for the Guest Speaker
portion (which does not include the Business portion of the Zoom session.
Accessing the Guest Speaker images can be done via the "Meeting's Images"
link above. From there you'll be able to jump between both the Guest Speaker and Business
segments.
> There was no flyer per se for the meeting. However, the announcement of the ZOOM session was made several
times to FOSA and ASC members via email. An image of its content can be found by clicking
2021 Announcement.
Scott Brady kept the meeting moving along; however, it was hampered by problems in getting the ZOOM feature
to change images of speakers; thus Mike Cahill (Secretary) and Jim Trocchi (Treasurer) read their reports but
we did not see their images.
> Recording Secretary Mike Cahill provided a year-in-review report on FOSA's 2020 activities.
> FOSA Treasurer Jim Trocchi presented the Treasurer's Report for 2020.
> CT State Archaeologist Sarah Sportman gave the OSA report, describing OSA activities during 2020 to
the accompaniment of several images.
> Cynthia Redman will be retiring from active FOSA activities; her contributions to both the organization
and to individual members were given by many participants, either online or via text message.
> Due to there being no formal meeting this year, there was no Certificate of Appreciation award in this
meeting. Rather, it will be deferred to a future "in-person" meeting.
