Stable Isotope Workshop Images

by Jim Hall

On April 24, 2016, then-PhD Candidate David Leslie led a Stable Isotope Workshop at the University of Connecticut. Several members of FOSA attended the workshop, pictures taken during which are presented below.

A synopsis of the workshop reads in part: "[The workshop will cover] archaeological science methods and laboratory demonstrations using modern and archaeological shell and soil samples. In this workshop, we will cover many topics, including the preparation of samples using a precision saw, fine polishing and grinding samples for microscopic analysis, Fourier Transform Infrared ["FTIR"] Spectroscopy of samples to investigate their structural composition, and micromilling samples for stable isotope analyses."
