Rochambeau Presentation in Bolton

An overflow crowd was in attendance on September 17th, despite a dark wet evening, for the Rochambeau Camp #5 artifact exhibit opening at the Bentley Memorial Library in Bolton, CT. The exhibit was curated by historian Rudy Guliani and featured artifacts recovered by UCONN’s Battlefield Archaeology Program under the direction of Dr. Kevin McBride, field investigations by the Office of State Archaeology under the direction of Dr. Sarah Sportman, and the Connecticut Library’s and OSA’s 2023 Digging into History dig.

Both Rudy Guliani and Dr. Sportman provided informative talks. We always learn something new at these events. For instance, Dr. Sportman described a circular feature, surrounded by a shallow trench identified by a GPR survey at the Rose Farm Rochambeau encampment.
