STEM Night in Columbia
On May 6th, students and parents from H.W. Porter School in Columbia attended a “STEM Night” at their school. One area of focus was on archaeology.
Dr. Sarah Sportman, Office of State Archaeology, Connecticut, gave the keynote presentation to kick off the event and then managed a table where visitors could interact with various archaeological exhibit materials.
FOSA volunteers Joan Hill, Guy Wanegar, Ray Michno, Jen Ritchie, and Tom Ford also assisted. They set up several tables showcasing information from the Hop River mill site, along with hands-on archeological activities for the students to try.
